Chausey's own collections are rooted in a deep love of textiles and art history, cultivated and honed through our respective careers as an interior designer and historic-house curator.
We work exclusively with 100% linen face-fabrics. Linen has an enduring appeal; classic yet contemporary, its uniquely warm texture and naturally hard-wearing quality make it the perfect cocoon for modern life. We also love it for its eco credentials. Sustainability is at the heart of our ethos and linen is one of the most environmentally-friendly textiles. Flax - the fibre from which linen is woven - grows quickly, requiring less water and fewer fertilisers and pesticides than other natural textile fibres. We also print and sew to order to minimise waste, and source our raw materials from suppliers who share our values. Our sumptuous cushions are filled with feathers ethically sourced from within the EU.
Our inaugural collection for Chausey takes inspiration from the artist's garden and the same bucolic landscape of Charleston Farmhouse that captured the imaginations of the Bloomsbury Group. We explore the collection's development and the garden that inspired it in our first Thoughts Blog.
